Leadership
Mr. Visel has served as lead teacher providing professional development for teachers in 16 elementary schools. He serves as an assessment developer for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and evaluates teachers for Pearson in 38 states through the EdTPA assessment. He has served on the education boards of the Charlottesville Symphony and Ash Lawn Opera. Mr. Visel is a staff sergeant in the Washington Army Reserve. He has completed an endorsement in administration and supervision.

Educational Interests
As a graduate student, Mr. Visel has worked on projects surrounding role of social services in public schools, reducing teacher absences, child custody issues at the elementary level, and school bus safety. He worked with various community groups to install a new "nature play" playground at Stone-Robinson Elementary School in Charlottesville, Virginia. See a video of the completed project here.
